Comedian, Host, Singer, Wordsmith
Julia Sutherland
Julia Sutherland has a way with words. Whether it be Fitzroy café spoken word, fitting 23 Dad jokes into one song, or relaying the agonies of a youth misspent in shopping centre talent quests with the flair of a modern day raconteur, Julia is on a mission to save the world, one word at a time.
Julia’s recent sell-out season of Miss Guided Confessions was described by one critic as ‘face achingly funny’. In previous shows, Julia has been declared ‘Superb!’ by the BBC, and ‘Impeccably focused…riveting’ by Australian playwright David Williamson.
After the success of the A Little Miss Guided, Utterly Miss Guided and Miss Guided Confessions, Julia currently turns her quick wit to regular host spots at Melbourne venues, and staged her latest show Word at the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival.
